Prayers for David As rain delights an ocean and winds caress a train, I pray to please You. As a tree feels an egg tremble and grass sees the leaves dying, I breathe so You can hear it. As the sun hold hotly to the earth and a bee dances on a mango, You love me. I pray to remember. When the speed is so staggering I feel still, You are the ecstatic wheel. You began this. You brought me to this madness. You course through me in waves, but also awkward spasms-- I pray be gentle with me. I pray these ridiculous things so for one moment I can speak to you, and wait to hear. 3/28/99
